Answers to the questions we’re asked most about our Osaka food and walking tours.
We run both group and private tours in Osaka. Group tours follow a set route and start time with other guests joining the experience. Private tours are more flexible and can be tailored to your group’s interests and pace. You can choose either food tours focusing on Osaka’s famous flavours and hidden eateries, or walking tours that explore the city’s districts, landmarks and culture.
Group food tours generally take around three to three and a half hours. Private food tours run for a similar length of time, but you can choose a start time that suits your group. Group walking tours usually take around four to five hours (confirm later if you want a firmer number). Private walking tours last around five to seven hours, depending on your interests and pacing on the day.
Food tours include tastings at five local venues, with 15 dishes served throughout the evening, plus three drinks per guest (alcoholic or non-alcoholic). Guests may purchase additional drinks at the venues if they wish. All food served on the night is included in the tour price, with no hidden fees.
Yes. Children from around five years of age are welcome, and our tours suit a wide range of ages up to roughly 90 years old. Both food and walking tours include rest points, and private tours can adjust the pace to suit families or mixed-age groups.
We can assist with some dietary needs, and this is easiest on private tours where stops can be adjusted. Traditional izakayas have limited alternatives, and vegan options are not available on group tours. Please inform us when booking so we can advise what is realistically possible for your group.
roup tours follow a set route at a scheduled time and include other travellers on the same experience. Private tours offer a more personalised approach, allowing you to choose when to start, how long you spend at each stop and whether you want to focus more on food, sightseeing or exploring different neighbourhoods. They are ideal for families, couples and guests wanting a fully tailored experience.
You can cancel or make changes to your booking up to 24 hours before the tour start time for a full refund or adjustment, subject to availability. Changes within 24 hours are not possible as restaurant reservations and food preparation are already organised.
All tours are conducted in English by native English-speaking guides who are long term residents of Osaka.
Guides also speak Japanese to help with ordering food, interacting with vendors, and navigating busy local districts.
